Jung's term for the inner part of the personality, or the female component of a masculine personality, 1923, from fem. of Latin animus "the rational soul; life; the mental powers, intelligence" (see animus).

Anima (Courtney Mason) is a fictional character from DC Comics, who starred in the comic book series of the same name. The character was created and written by science-fiction and fantasy authors Elizabeth Hand and Paul Witcover.

Anima is a Turkish alternative rock band formed in 2000 by Ceylan Ertem, Ekin Cengizkan, Murat Çopur, and Tuncay Korkmaz. The group is particularly known for their covers on stage of artists / bands like Radiohead, Björk, Massive Attack, Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and Jamiroquai.

Anima Young Singers of Greater Chicago is a chorus based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. Formerly the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus (GECC), the chorus changed its name to Anima in May 2008. The chorus consists of girls and boys ages 5–18.

Anima is a novel written by Marie Buchanan. It is in the mystery or suspense genre, and was first published in the United Kingdom under the title Greenshards by Fawcett Crest in 1972.

It is 223 pages long, and consists of two roughly equal halves, titled first Olive on page 1, and then Megan on page 127. The division of the book into two halves is for a stylistic change of perspective or vantage point. While Olive was crippled from a car crash, Megan is a gorgeous actress. Anima is a Brazilian chamber music ensemble.

ANIMA (musica mundana humana et instrumentalis) was first formed, in 2011, by Marlui Miranda (singing, arrangements, Brazilian indigenous flutes, percussion, and research); Silvia Ricardino (Trobadour harp, research, and arrangements); Marília Vargas (soprano, research, and arrangements); Paulo Dias (percussion, harpsichord, organeto, research and arrangements); Gisela Nogueira – (viola of wire, research and arrangements); Luiz Fiaminghi (Brazilian rrabecas research, arrangements, production, and executive direction), and Valeria Bittar (recorders, Brazilian indigenous flutes, research, arrangements, executive direction, and production).

Its last launched album is entiled Donzela Guerreira, by the label SESC of São Paulo state, in March 2010.
