shish cabob
Cabob \Ca*bob"\, n. [Hindi kab[=a]b] [Now more commonly spelled kabob.]
A small piece of mutton or other meat roasted on a skewer; -- so called in Turkey and Persia. [Also spelled kebab, kebob, or kabab.]
