Rising Sun (novel)

Rising Sun is a 1992 internationally best-selling novel by Michael Crichton about a murder in the Los Angeles headquarters of Nakamoto, a fictional Japanese corporation. The book was published by Alfred A. Knopf.

Although a detective/ murder mystery novel at first glance, Rising Sun deals with the controversial subject of Japanese-American relations, and questions the premise that foreign direct investment in the high-technology sectors of the United States is beneficial. Throughout the book, the differences between the Japanese and Western mindsets are highlighted, especially in the areas of business strategy and corporate culture.

Rising Sun (film)

Rising Sun is a 1993 American crime film written and directed by Philip Kaufman, starring Sean Connery (who was also an executive producer), Wesley Snipes, Harvey Keitel, and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. Michael Crichton and Michael Backes wrote the screenplay, based on Crichton's novel of the same name.

Rising Sun (comics)

The Rising Sun badge, also known as the General Service Badge or the Australian Army Badge, is the official insignia of the Australian Army and is worn on the brim of a slouch hat or the front of a peaked cap (select appointments only). Rising Sun (TVXQ album)

Rising Sun is the second Korean studio album by South Korean pop group TVXQ, released on September 12, 2005 by S.M. Entertainment. The songs are written by well-known musicians such as Yoo Young Jin, Kenzie, Hwang Sung Je and All-4-one member Jamie Jones.

The year 2007 is said to be K-pop's biggest slump in sales in South Korea, with the highest selling album by SG Wannabe at only 190,998 copies sold. TVXQ's "Rising Sun" still managed to make it onto the Korean Top 100 yearly charts, despite its release in 2005. It was the highest selling "old" album in 2007 with #67 position on the charts. In April 2009 the title track of the album, "Rising Sun", was featured in Fast & Furious, during Paul Walker's opening scene. It was credited at the end as sung by TVXQ.

As of July 2012, the album has sold over 297,000 copies in South Korea.

Rising Sun (Augustus Pablo album)

Rising Sun is a reggae album by Augustus Pablo, originally released in 1986 on Greensleeves.

It features Sly Dunbar on drums, Earl "Chinna" Smith on guitar and Dean Frazer on saxophone. Pablo produced the album and played melodica, piano, organ and synthesizer.

The songs were both recorded at Channel One, Dynamic Sounds and Tuff Gong in Kingston, Jamaica as well as at HC & F in New York.
