What is "deadpool"

Deadpool (real name Wade Winston Wilson) is a fictional antihero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by artist/writer Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, the character first appeared in The New Mutants #98 ( cover-dated February 1991). Initially Deadpool was depicted as a supervillain when he made his first appearance in The New Mutants and later in issues of X-Force, but later evolved into his more recognizable antiheroic persona. Deadpool is a disfigured and mentally unstable mercenary with the superhuman ability of an accelerated healing factor and physical prowess. He is known as the "Merc with a Mouth" because of his talkative nature and tendency to break the fourth wall, which is used by writers for humorous effect and running gags.

The character's popularity has seen him feature in numerous other media. In the 2004 series Cable & Deadpool, he refers to his own scarred appearance as " Ryan Reynolds crossed with a Shar Pei", leading to Reynolds eventually portraying the character in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine and reprising the role in the 2016 film Deadpool.

Deadpool is an antihero action comedy beat 'em up video game based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. The game was developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Former Deadpool comic writer Daniel Way created the game's plot, and Nolan North voiced the character. The game received mixed to positive reviews, with plot elements commonly praised and gameplay elements found lacking.

Deadpool, along with most other games published by Activision that had used the Marvel license, were de-listed and removed from all digital storefronts on January 1, 2014. As of July 15, 2015 the game was made available to purchase again on Steam. The game was re-released on November 18, 2015 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to coincide with the 2016 film of the same name.

It is the eighth installment in the X-Men film series, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Leslie Uggams and Brianna Hildebrand. In Deadpool, Wade Wilson hunts the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Development began in February 2004 with New Line Cinema, but put the film in turnaround in March 2005, with 20th Century Fox buying the rights. In May 2009, after Reynolds portrayed the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Fox lent the film to writers, and Miller was hired for his directorial debut in April 2011. Enthusiastic acclaim from leaked CGI test footage by Miller in July 2014 led to Fox greenlighting the film in September. Additional casting began in early 2015, and principal photography commenced in Vancouver from March to May.

Deadpool premiered in Paris on February 8, 2016, and was released on February 12 in the United States in IMAX, DLP, D-Box and premium large format. The film was a massive blockbuster success, grossing over $782 million worldwide and breaking numerous box office records, including becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2016, the highest-grossing R-rated film and X-Men film of all time, and received generally positive reviews. Shortly after its success, a sequel was greenlit by Fox.

Deadpool (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack to the 2016 film Deadpool, composed by Junkie XL, under his legal name Tom Holkenborg.

Following the release, the soundtrack made the 30 mark on the Billboard 200, and topped the soundtrack list also from Billboard.
