Wikipedia
In Greek mythology, Talos (; , Talōs) or Talon (; , Talōn) was a giant automaton made of bronze to protect Europa in Crete from pirates and invaders. He circled the island's shores three times daily.
Alternatively Talos could be figured as a sacred bull. His bronze nature suggested to the author of Bibliothēkē that he may have been a survivor from the Age of Bronze, a descendant of the brazen race that sprang from meliae "ash-tree nymphs" according to Argonautica 4. The conception that Hesiod's men of the Age of Bronze were actually made of bronze is extended to men of the age of gold by Lucian for humorous effect.
The pseudo-Platonic dialogue Minos rationalized the myth, thrice yearly showing at each village in turn the laws of Minos inscribed on brass tablets.
Talos, is probably Perdix and nephew of Daedalus, invented the saw after seeing a fish's jawbone. Daedalus was so jealous of the invention that he tried to murder him, but Athena intervened and turned Talos/Perdix into a partridge to save his life. ( Bibliotheca 3.15.8)
According to Ovid, Talos/Perdix used fish spine as the prototype of the saw. ( Metamorphoses 8.244-246)
According to a version of Apollodorus ([Library of Greek Mythology, 3.15] transl. Robin Hard), Daedalus was successful in killing his nephew Talos/Peridix and, as punishment, was exiled to the court of Minos: "After the corpse was discovered, Daedalus was tried...and went into exile at the court of Minos."
In some sources, Talos and Perdix are most likely the same person.

Talos is the Faerûnian deity of storms and destruction in Ed Greenwood's Forgotten Realms campaign setting of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game. Talos' dogma is self-serving, demanding utter obedience from his priests and instructing them to spread destruction where they may. He is known as Bhaelros to the Calishites and Kozah to the Bedine. Followers of Talos are known as Talassans.
Talos appears as a broad shouldered, bearded man with one good eye. He wears half plate armor over black leather armor, and black leather gloves. His empty eye socket is filled with whirling stars and covered with a dark eye patch. When he appears as Bhaelros in Calimshan, he often takes the form of a dusky skinned, turbaned genie rising out of a sandstorm.

TALOS (Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit) was the name given to a robotic exoskeleton that United States Special Operations Command intended to design with the help of universities, laboratories, and the technology industry. The brief for TALOS states that it must be bulletproof, weaponized, have the ability to monitor vitals and give the wearer superhuman strength and perception. The suit would comprise layers of smart material and sensors. The suit may not be intended for an entire squad, but for a lead operator who will breach a door first, to protect them as they are the most vulnerable team operator in that situation.
