Scorched is a 2003 independent comedy film starring Alicia Silverstone, Rachael Leigh Cook, Woody Harrelson, and John Cleese. The film was directed by , brother of Academy Award-winning television and film producer Brian Grazer. Scorched follows the story of several disgruntled bank employees who all try to rob the same bank on the same night without knowing that others are doing exactly the same thing.
The film had a very poor financial performance at the box office. From the initial budget of US $7 million, Scorched earned back only $8,000 at the end of its theatrical run. It was pulled from its theatrical run after just one weekend in the theaters where it managed to earn a meager $666 per theater.
Scorched is the live recorded premiere of the (re-)composition by Mark-Anthony Turnage commissioned by the Society of Friends and Patrons of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2002. Turnage recomposed and orchestrated original compositions by jazz guitarist John Scofield for symphony orchestra and big band to which the title refers (SCOfield ORCHstratED). Scofield was part of the project together with John Patitucci on electric bass and Peter Erskine on drums. 2004 it was Grammy nominated for "Best Classical Crossover Album" . (The work on "Scorched" is also featured in the film portrait of Turnage by Barrie Gavin ("Getting Scorched: Mark-Anthony Turnage", DVD, 2009))
Scorched is an Australian television movie broadcast on the Nine Network on 31 August 2008. The telemovie was titled Strike Team, which was ultimately as a decoy due to the state government having been uncomfortable about the premise and plot of the script. Scorched won the International Emmy Award for Digital Program: Fiction in 2009.

Marking the first produced script for series writer Sean Crouch, the episode features Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents and mathematicians investigating a series of arsons that may have been started by an ecoterrorist group. Bill Nye "The Science Guy", who is a fan of the show, guest stars as a colleague of scientists Dr. Charlie Eppes ( David Krumholtz) and Dr. Larry Fleinhardt ( Peter MacNicol).
