Sakura (musician)

, known by his stage name Sakura, is a Japanese musician. He is probably best known as former drummer of the rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. After leaving them in 1997, he formed the supergroup Zigzo, the trio Sons of All Pussys, and his solo project Lion Heads.

Currently he performs with the bands Rayflower, the reformed Zigzo, The Madcap Laughs and Gibkiy Gibkiy Gibkiy, and supports Dead End frontman Morrie in his solo project Creature Creature.

Sakura (Susumu Yokota album)

Sakura is a full-length album from electronic artist Susumu Yokota, released in 1999 in Japan on Skintone (STR03) and on 11 September 2000 in the United Kingdom on The Leaf Label (BAY13). It was named as the top electronic release of the year 2000 by The Wire.

Some tracks sample elements of Harold Budd's album " The Pavilion of Dreams". Track two, "Tobiume", samples the opening track ("Bismillahi 'Rrahmani 'Rahim"); track four, "Hagoromo", features a sample from "Let Us Go Into The House of the Lord/Butterfly Sunday", and track eleven - "Shinsen" - opens with a sample from "Rosetti Noise/Chrystal Garden and a Coda".

Track six, "Gekkoh", features a sample from the opening of Steve Reich's "Music for 18 Musicians", and also contains elements of Young Marble Giants' "The Taxi" (from their album Colossal Youth).

Track eight, "Azukiiro No Kaori", contains samples from the Return to Forever song "Sometime Ago/La Fiesta" from Return to Forever.

Track nine, "Kodomotachi", features a sample from Joni Mitchell's song "Songs to Aging Children Come" from Clouds.

Sakura (NHK)

is a Japanese serialized morning television drama that aired on NHK from April 1 to September 28 of 2002. The series totalled 156 episodes.

It chronicles the life of Matsushita Sakura, a Sansei (third-generation) Japanese-American living in Hawaii. She moves to a small town in Japan to be an assistant language teacher for Japanese middle-school students.

The show, lasting only 15 minutes long, is on every morning except Sunday, every week. Sakura first comes to Japan living with her grandparents; later, she moves because she has to teach English to the Japanese students. There she learns many valuable lessons and makes new friends.

Sakura (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle)

Princess Tsubasa of Clow, also known as or via her cloned identity, is a fictional character and one of the protagonists from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, a manga series written and illustrated by Clamp. In the series, Sakura is a princess from the Kingdom of Clow who has her memories separated from her body and sent to parallel dimensions in the form of feathers. Finding Sakura catatonic and near death, Syaoran, her childhood friend, goes on a quest to recover her memories. As a payment for travelling, Sakura will never recover her memories regarding Syaoran, who she was in love with. Nevertheless, as the journey continues, Sakura forms new bonds with Syaoran, and together they learn how the sorcerer Fei-Wang Reed was responsible for the loss of her memories and will benefit from their recovery. Besides Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Sakura also appears in other works from Clamp including xxxHolic and the drama CD series Holitsuba.

The character of Sakura and her relationship with Syaoran were both based on Sakura Kinomoto, the protagonist from Cardcaptor Sakura. Her character has been well received by Japanese readers and audiences, appearing in various popularity polls not only from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle but also for anime and manga series in general. She has also received praise from media publications for her personality, her relation with Syaoran, and her development across the series.

The is a high-speed shinkansen service operated between and in Japan since 12 March 2011. It was formerly a limited express sleeper train service operated by JR Kyushu, which ran from to and in Kyushu, Japan. The service was discontinued from the start of the revised timetable on 1 March 2005.

"Sakura" is the debut single of Japanese trio Ikimono-gakari, released in Japan on March 15, 2006. The single peaked at number 17 on the weekly Oricon chart, charting for 31 weeks. It also reached number 182 on the yearly chart for 2006. "Sakura" was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (digital download single).

Sakura is the 45th single by Japanese boy band Arashi. It was released on February 25, 2015 under their record label J Storm. "Sakura" was used as the theme song for the television drama Ouroborous, starring actors Toma Ikuta and Shun Oguri. The single was released in two editions: a first press/limited edition and a regular edition. The first press/limited edition contains the B-side "Rise and Shine" and the music video and making-of for "Sakura" while the regular edition contains two B-sides. The single sold 465,381 copies in its first week and topped the weekly Oricon Singles Chart. With over 520,000 copies sold, the single was certified Double Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). The single placed 11th on Oricon's 2015 yearly singles ranking.
