The moonwalk is a dance move in which the dancer moves backwards while showing to move forwards. A popping move, it became popular around the world after Michael Jackson performed the dance move during a performance of " Billie Jean" on Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever on March 25, 1983. This special was broadcast May 16, 1983. It subsequently became his signature move.

MoonWalk (charity event)

The Playtex Moonwalk is a nocturnal charity marathon ("full moon") and half-marathon ("half-moon") held annually in London, and more recently Edinburgh, Scotland to raise money for breast cancer research. Over 15,000 women and 1,000 men took part in the 2007 London event, while 9,000 women and 1,000 men took part in Edinburgh. Participants power walk with their decorated bras on display. In 2007 the event was sponsored by bra manufacturer Playtex.

Celebrity participants include Lorraine Kelly and Michelle McManus.

Moonwalk is a 1988 autobiography written by American recording artist Michael Jackson. The book was first published by Doubleday on February 1, 1988, five months after the release of Jackson's 1987 Bad album, and named after Jackson's signature dance move, the moonwalk. The book was edited by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and reached number one on the New York Times Best Seller list. The book was reissued by Doubleday on October 13, 2009 following Jackson's death on June 25, 2009.
