Kavli
Not to be confused with Fred Kavli's Kavli Foundation (United States).

Kavli is a Norwegian brand of soft cheese, caviar, mayonnaise and crackers. The company is owned by the Kavli Trust and based in Bergen. The company sells products in 30 countries, with plants in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, England and Scotland. The company dates back to 1893 when Olav Kavli started a dairy and export of cheese to the United States. In 1924, Olav Kavli invented a way to produce long-lasting soft cheese and launched the Primula (food) brand, quickly entering the international market. Later the corporation introduced new related products. In 1962, the ownership of the company was taken over by a foundation to ensure that the company remained an important social institution.
