Cover Girl (film)

Cover Girl is a 1944 American Technicolor musical film starring Rita Hayworth and Gene Kelly. The film tells the story of a chorus girl given a chance at stardom when she is offered an opportunity to be a highly paid cover girl. The film was directed by Charles Vidor, and was one of the most popular musicals of the war years.

Primarily a showcase for Rita Hayworth, the film has lavish modern and 1890s costumes, eight dance routines for Hayworth, and songs by Jerome Kern and Ira Gershwin, including the classic " Long Ago (and Far Away)".

Cover Girl is a fictional character from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toyline, comic books and cartoon series. She is a tank jockey for the G.I. Joe Team, specializing in the Wolverine missile tank, and debuted in 1983 on the same team.

A cover girl is a woman whose photograph features on the front cover of a magazine. She may be a model, celebrity or entertainer. The term would generally not be used to describe a casual, once-off appearance by a person on the cover of a magazine. The term first appeared in English about 1899. A less commonly used antonym is cover boy.

Cover Girl (TV series)

Cover Girl is a Canadian French language television sitcom, which aired on Radio-Canada in 2005. Created and written by Richard Blaimert, the series revolved around three drag queens sharing ownership of Cover Girl, a gay nightclub in downtown Montreal.

The series premiered in the winter of the 2004-05 television season, and was renewed for a second season which aired in fall 2005, for a total of 26 episodes. One of Quebec's most noted drag queens, Mado Lamotte, criticized the show as unrealistic.

The series garnered several Gemeaux Award nominations in 2006, including Best Comedy Series and nods for René Richard Cyr and Vincent Bolduc as Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

Cover Girl (Shawn Colvin album)

Cover Girl, Shawn Colvin's third full-length album, was released in 1994 on Columbia Records. Colvin is a singer-songwriter who usually records her own material, however, as the title alludes to, all of the tracks on the album are covers of previously recorded songs. The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

"Cover Girl" is the first single from RuPaul's album Champion. It was released to iTunes February 3, 2009 as part of an EP titled Cover Girl - The RuMixes, and released again as track three of the Champion album.

On January 5, 2009, RuPaul released the world premier of his single Cover Girl on his MySpace profile and his blog. It was premiered as a promotional video which included footage from RuPaul's Drag Race, a reality TV show formatted similar to America's Next Top Model. RuPaul sees in Cover Girl a return to the House music of the 90's: "I understand what the public wants from me - and I am letting these children have it!". The single was later available as a download on iTunes on February 11, 2009, or as a CD directly from RuPaul's webpage (released in the "RuCo, Inc." imprint RuPaul founded for his last 3 albums.) On the 17th of February, 2009 the music video to Cover Girl was released. In the music video are beside RuPaul the album producer Lucian Piane and the boxing team from RuPaul's Drag Race. The second version of the music video which contains additional scenes with three finalists of RuPaul's Drag Race and a rap part of the winner BeBe Zahara Benet was published at the beginning of April, 2009
