Brungaria
Brungaria is a fictitious dictatorship, in the Tom Swift Jr. book series. Brungaria is loosely modeled on the Soviet Union, although it is never stated as a socialist country. What is known about Brungaria, is that it is highly advanced in the realm of science and technology. Many of Tom Swift's expeditions on Earth and in space, come close to being thwarted by Brungarian scientists. The Brungarians exhibit disregard for international laws, and often carry out espionage and sabotage. The country itself is never elaborated upon, but the reader can infer that Brungaria is somewhere in Eastern Europe, and has large mineral and manufacturing resources, along with a spaceport.
