It began serialization on Square Enix's Gangan Comics Online service from August 4, 2011 and is published by Yen Press in North America. A 4-panel spin-off manga began serialization in Gangan Joker from January 22, 2013. A television anime adaptation by Silver Link aired in Japan between July and September 2013. The anime adaptation received critical acclaim, particularly for the portrayal of the main character, but was also controversial in its treatment of social anxiety.
