What is "varie"

is a Japanese corporation that developed and published games for the Game Boy, Famicom, the Super Famicom, and the Sega Mega Drive during the 1980s and the 1990s. It was founded in 1986 and disappeared in early 1997.

The Visual Arts Research Institute Edinburgh (VARIE) is a research consortium which consists of:

• University of Edinburgh
• Edinburgh College of Art

With the following associated members:

• National Museums Scotland
• National Library of Scotland

And affiliated History of Art departments:

• University of St. Andrews
• University of Glasgow

VARIE was established in 1999 and is a member of the International Association of Research Institutes in the History of Art.
