untapt is a global recruiting platform that automates the hiring process in the FinTech and financial services industry. It uses an algorithm to match candidates with companies looking for employees. untapt focuses on sourcing technology employees for banks, consulting firms, FinTech startups, and hedge funds. In February 2015, the company became the first automated recruiting platform for FinTech after it officially launched from a successful beta.

untapt was founded by Ed Donner, Geoff Massam, and Max Kantelia. Donner is a former managing director at JP Morgan, Massam is a former CIO at Deutsche Bank, and Kantelia is an entrepreneur in recruitment and FinTech. The company was founded to automate the recruiting process to reduce the cost for companies looking to hire tech employees. Candidates sign up on the site for free and employers post as many jobs as they want for free. Employers are only charged after they successfully hire a candidate.

untapt uses a proprietary algorithm to match employers with candidates and then connects them directly. The algorithm analyzes factors that include skills, experience and education to match candidates. In April 2015, untapt obtained $3 million in funding from Series A Preferred Stock financing which was led by Tsai Capital.
