Tamale \Ta*ma"le\, n. [Written also tamal, tomale.] [Amer. Sp. tamal, of Mex. origin.] A Mexican dish made of crushed corn (cornmeal) mixed with minced meat, seasoned with red pepper, dipped in oil, and steamed.
