Taklung (town)

Taklung, Taglung or Daglung is a small town in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. It lies at an altitude of 4,459 metres (14,632 feet). The town was once the seat of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism, with its headquarters at the Taklung Monastery.

Taklung is a village development committee in Gorkha District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4,835 and had 859 houses in the town.
