Staňkov is a town in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It lies on the Radbuza River, some to the southwest from the region capital of Plzeň.
Staňkov is also a Municipality with Commissioned Local Authority within the Horšovský Týn Municipality with Extended Competence.
During the Second World War, the metalworks in Staňkov were accidentally bombed by the RAF on 28 October 1940 when they were mistaken for the nearby Škoda Works.
Staňkov is a village and municipality ( obec) in Jindřichův Hradec District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
The municipality covers an area of , and has a population of 242 (as at 28 August 2006).
Staňkov lies approximately south of Jindřichův Hradec, east of České Budějovice, and south of Prague.
