The National Air and Naval Service of Panama, also called SENAN (Spanish abbreviation for Servicio Nacional Aeronaval), is a branch of the Public Forces of the Republic of Panama responsible for carrying out naval and air operations. Its main function is to "Perform'' protection, surveillance, security and defense of the air and maritime jurisdictional areas of the Republic of Panama'' '. at the date of January 2012 the Naval Air Service has approximately 2,000 troops in active service, with 20 boats and approximately 20 aircraft.
