Selone
In chemistry, a selone is the structural analog of a ketone where selenium replaces oxygen. Selones are used as chiral derivatizing agents for selenium-77 NMR spectroscopy. Chiral oxazolidineselones are excellent partners in the stereospecific aldol reaction, and Se NMR can verify the enantiomeric purity of the aldol product.
