"articles below the first quality," c.1600, plural of second (n.) "that which is after the first" (early 14c.), from second (adj.); originally attested in this sense in a Shakespeare sonnet. Meaning "second helping of food at a meal" is recorded from 1792.

Seconds is the third album released by Kate Rogers. Her first album was a compilation of her guest appearances as vocalist on Grand Central Records releases, entitled Kate Rogers Vs Grand Central. This was followed by St. Eustacia, an album of original material, written and performed by Rogers.

Seconds is a 1966 American science fiction drama film directed by John Frankenheimer and starring Rock Hudson. The screenplay by Lewis John Carlino was based on Seconds, a novel by David Ely. The film was entered into the 1966 Cannes Film Festival and released by Paramount Pictures. The cinematography by James Wong Howe was nominated for an Academy Award.
