Saptapadi

Saptapadi (, saptapadī) is the most important rite (Sanskrit, Hindi: rītī) of a Hindu marriage ceremony. The word, Saptapadi means "Seven steps". After tying the Mangalsutra, the newly wed couple take seven steps around the holy fire, that is called Saptapadi. After the seventh step, the couple legally become husband and wife.

Saptapadi is sometimes referred to as Saat Phere.

Saptapadi (English: Seven steps) is a 1961 Indian Bengali romantic drama film by Ajoy Kar, starring Suchitra Sen, Uttam Kumar, Chhabi Biswas and Chaya Debi. Regarded as the romantic blockbuster of the evergreen romantic pair of Bengali cinema, Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, accompanied with mesmerizing music direction and playback singing in Uttam's voice by Hemanta Mukherjee and in Suchitra's voice by Sandhya Mukherjee. The story is based on a novel of 1958 written by Tarasankar Bandyopadhyay.

Saptapadi (1981 film)

Saptapadi is a 1981 Telugu drama film, written and directed by Kashinathuni Vishwanath. The film garnered the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. The film is not only about the seven steps that one takes to become a part of the institution of marriage and a ritualistic exercise that completes the act of shedding the bachelorhood and entering a more stable state, but talks about an individual's journey breaking away from the shackles from the conservatism to finding a path of understanding, encompassing and enlightenment. The film was premiered at the International Film Festival of India, and the AISFM film festival.

Saptapadi (English:Seven Steps) is a 1992 Indian Kannada romantic drama film directed by H. R. Bhargava and based on the novel of the same name by Saisuthe. The film features Ambareesh, Rupini and Sudharani in the lead roles. The film, produced by S. A. Srinivas, was widely appreciated for its songs tuned by Upendra Kumar and lead actors performances upon release.

The film's screenplay, dialogues and lyrics are written by Chi. Udaya Shankar. Cinematography is by B. C. Gowrishankar. It was presented by Rajkumar for Sri Vahini Cine Combines.
