Potato bug is a species of ant found in the genus Solenopsis. Solenopsis are stinging ants and most of their common names reflect this, for example, ginger ants and tropical fire ants. The Potato Bug is a misnomer as the ant's diet does not consist of potatoes.
Potato bug may also refer to:
- Armadillidium vulgare, the pillbug
- Jerusalem cricket, an insect
- Potato Bug, a character in The Mr. Potato Head Show
- A style of mandolin with a body constructed of contrasting woods, resembling the striped markings of the Potato beetle
