NASHI

NASHI (; Nashi; "Ours") is a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada-based organisation that opposes human trafficking by raising awareness through education. Savelia Curniski is the president of NASHI. The organisation has established a vocational school in Lviv, Ukraine to teach girls and women carpentry, sewing, information processing, and cooking so they won't become trapped in Ukraine's human trafficking network. NASHI also founded the Maple Leaf Centre, a resource centre and shelter in Ukraine for young people who are at risk of being trafficked. In 2011, NASHI hosted the Saskatoon portion of the Canada Freedom Relay to raise awareness about human trafficking. The event lasted 45 minutes and raised funds for various programs that aid human trafficking victims. In 2012, NASHI organised the Youth Unchained conference in Saskatoon that presented approximately 900 youth with information about human trafficking. Betty Lawrence is one of the co-founders of NASHI. The organisation's activities are facilitated by volunteers.

Nashi (youth movement)

Nashi (, Youth Democratic Anti-Fascist Movement "Ours!") is a political youth movement in Russia, which declares itself to be a democratic, anti-fascist, anti-'oligarchic-capitalist' movement. Its creation was encouraged by senior figures in the Russian Presidential administration, and is labeled as a government organized non-governmental organization (GONGO). By late 2007, it had grown in size to some 120,000 members aged between 17 and 25. On April 6, 2012, the Nashi leader announced that the current form of the movement would be dissolving in the near future, possibly to be replaced by a different organisation. He stated that Nashi had been "compromised" during the 2012 Russian presidential election.

In 2008, the movement was divided into groups: Nashi-2.0, Steel, All Houses, Nasha Victory and other.

Western critics have compared its "deliberately cultivated resemblance to" the Soviet Komsomol or the Hitler Youth and dubbed as Putinjugend.

Nashi (1991)

Nashi (Russian: Наши, meaning "Ours") was a political movement initiated by well-known Russian journalist Alexander Nevzorov. The movement has been described as " statist- chauvinist".

With Russia experiencing political and economic crisis amid the Dissolution of the Soviet Union, in November 1991 Nevzorov established the People's Liberation Movement "Nashi", which he defined as "a united front of resistance to the anti-national politics of the current administration of Russia and other Union Republics of the former USSR". Its badge contained the contour of the USSR with the words "НАШИ" (Ours) within. One of the prominent participants in the movement was Viktor Alksnis. The organisation was based in Leningrad (later Saint Petersburg), where Nevzorov hosted the scandalous television broadcast 600 Seconds. Nashi militants maintained a presence on Leningrad's streets. The movement called for a restoration of the Soviet Union and opposed what they saw as Russia's enemies in the West and their collaborators in Russia. Its positions were similar to Zhirinovsky's Liberal Democratic Party of the Soviet Union and the more " right-wing" groups of the National Salvation Front. The members of Nashi were sometimes called nashists, a pun based on similarity with the word fascists.

The Nashi in today's Russia is not related to the Nevzorov's movement.

After some diplomatic persuasion from Janeway and Neelix, Secretary Nashi had reluctantly agreed that sharing Federation technology with the Chiar might upset the structure of their civilization and was therefore not a good idea.

Neelix put in, his yellow eyes flickering toward Nashi, who pretended not to notice.
