IBM Maximo Asset Management is an enterprise asset management (EAM) software solution product produced by IBM. It is a solution which enterprises use to track the operation, maintenance and disposal of assets. It focuses on the following types of assets:

  • Plant and production (for example oil, gas, chemicals, mining, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food, electronics and power generation)
  • Infrastructure (including railways, highways, telecommunications, water and wastewater, and electric and gas distribution networks)
  • Transportation (for military, airlines, trucking, shipping, rail and other use)
  • Real estate and facilities (for example, in offices, schools and hospitals)

EAM is globally known to be critical in asset intensive industries, i.e., utilities, oil & gas, pharma., rail & transit, heavy manufacturing, and facilities including hospitals, campuses and hotel.

The current release, IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.6, is the third release built upon a J2EE service-oriented architecture. It is an Enterprise Asset Management, Service Management and IT asset management suite of applications that are scalable and easily integrated into existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

MRO Software, the provider of Maximo, was acquired by IBM in August 2006.

Maximo is the basis of Tivoli Process Automation Engine, which is the central part of Tivoli Service Automation Manager and it has been licensed to other companies for more specified development.

José Christian Alvarado Ruiz (born November 8, 1980) is a Mexican Luchador or professional wrestler best known under the ring name Máximo (Spanish for "Maximus"), who work for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) as Máximo Sexy. Alvarado is the son of José Alvarado Nieves, who wrestles as Brazo de Plata, the grandson of Shadito Cruz and part of the extended Alvarado wrestling family. Alvarado wrestles as an Exótico character, a character that appears to be homosexual but he is married to wrestler India Sioux and together they have a son.
