Makoto (Street Fighter)

is a fictional character in the Street Fighter series. She made her first appearance in 1999's Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. In the series, she is a young Japanese woman raised from the Tosa Province of Japan who utilizes her family's dojo teachings of Rindo-kan karate as her fighting style.

Makoto wears a white dōgi and a yellow hachimaki around her neck, intended to demonstrate her speed and trajectory. Voiced by Makoto Tsumura in Japanese, Makoto speaks in Tosa dialect, which was accomplished by the development team hiring a professional to supervise the sound development. In 3rd Strike, her father was the former master of the Rindōkan karate dojo. Makoto is a game invented in Colorado in 1992. It is played in the Makoto Arena. In 2002, Makoto USA, Inc. (www.makoto-usa.com) purchased all intellectual property from the original designers and have been improving/redesigning it ever since. The current Makoto Arena bears little resemblance to the original design with the exception of the three towers and triangular design. The current Makoto Arena utilizes a Windows-based computer to control the lights and sounds of the game as well as to track scores.

Makoto (wrestler)

is a Japanese professional wrestler. Trained by Emi Sakura, Makoto made her debut for her Ice Ribbon promotion in July 2006. During the next five years, Makoto went on to win Ice Ribbon's top title, the ICE×60 Championship, once and the International Ribbon Tag Team Championship twice, before transferring over to the Smash promotion in August 2011. She remained with Smash until March 2012, when the promotion folded. The following month, Makoto was announced as part of the roster of the new Wrestling New Classic (WNC) promotion. In March 2013, Makoto became the second WNC Women's Champion. In January 2014, Makoto made Reina Joshi Puroresu her second home promotion in addition to WNC. Reina became her primary home promotion after WNC shut down in June 2014. She is currently in her first reign as the Reina World Women's Champion, while also being a former two-time Reina World Tag Team Champion.
