Lophornis
Lophornis is a genus of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. These are all tiny birds, ranking among the smallest hummingbirds. No species exceeds and most are under in total length. The male coquettes are noted from their outlandish, colorful crests and markings, the females being more subdued. It contains the following ten species:
- White-crested coquette (Lophornis adorabilis)
- Short-crested coquette (Lophornis brachylophus)
- Festive coquette (Lophornis chalybeus)
- Rufous-crested coquette (Lophornis delattrei)
- Dot-eared coquette (Lophornis gouldii)

- Peacock coquette (Lophornis pavoninus)
- Spangled coquette (Lophornis stictolophus)
- Tufted coquette (Lophornis ornatus)
