Karam [Translation: Fate] is a Bollywood crime thriller film, released in 2005. The film is directed by the cinematographer Sanjay F. Gupta (often confused with another director Sanjay Gupta). This movie is Sanjay F Gupta's directorial debut movie. He had directed the advertisements and music videos. This movie stars John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.

Karam Kimi Djabate's second solo album off, U.S based label, Cumbancha is rooted in Djabté's upbringing as a griot and professional musician in his home country of Guinea-Bissau. Now based out of Lisbon, Portugal Djabaté's Karam incorporates a variety of European sounds into the traditional sounds of his home village. The album features Kimi Djabate on vocals, guitar and the balafon. Karam speaks to the economic hardships, inequalities, freedoms and love found in his home village and throughout Africa.

Karam (festival)

Karam is the worship of Karam-Devta (Karam-Lord/God), the god of power, youth, and youthfulness. The Karam festival is an agricultural festival celebrated by diverse groups of people, including the Ho, Mundadri, Oraon, Kharia, Panch Pargania, Kurukh, Khortha, Korba, Santhali, Nagpuri, and Kurmali speaking people. The festival is held on the 11th day of a full moon (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Bhado, which falls between August and September. Groups of young villagers go to the jungle and collect wood, fruits, and flowers. These are required during the puja (worship) of Karam God. During this period, people sing and dance together in groups. The entire valley dances to the drumbeat "day of the phases".
