n. One which interacts.

Wikipedia
InterActor

The word interActor refers to an object that is placed on a slide or 'stage' during web conferencing or other remote presentation. The concept is that the element is interactive and all members in an audience may interact with it.

If a sales person wants to show a customer a slide illustrating features of his product, he may want to determine whether or not the audience member is interested in the product. This is done by placing an interactor on the slide before being delivered to the audience member. Upon delivery, the audience member 'interacts' with the interActor, with the result of this interaction written to a database back on the host system. This way, the presenter has a permanent record of the audience member's preferences.

InterActors may also read data from other interActors attached to slides presented to other audience members. This forms a real-time polling mechanism. Interactions may be viewable by the presenter only, or optionally viewed by all audience members. This forms the basis of Group Decision Support Systems.

The possibilities are limitless if a system is properly configured to support interActors.
