Greenwood (TTC)

Greenwood is a subway station on the Bloor–Danforth line in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located at the southwest corner of Linnsmore Crescent and Strathmore Boulevard just north of Danforth Avenue.

The entrance, collector's booth and bus bays are at street level, with stairs and escalator to a lower concourse level which provides a passage between the platforms on the level below. Single escalators operate in an up direction at all times.

It opened in 1966 as part of the original segment of the Bloor-Danforth line. It is one block east of Greenwood Avenue, the closest major intersection, after which it is named.

Greenwood (electoral district)

Greenwood was a federal electoral district represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1935 to 1979. It was located in east end of the city of Toronto in the province of Ontario. This riding was created in 1933 from parts of Toronto East and Toronto—Scarborough ridings.

It initially was bounded on the south by Lake Ontario, on the east by Woodbine Avenue, on the north by the city limits, and on the west by the eastern boundary of Broadview riding.

In 1947, the western limit was redefined to be (from north to south) from the city limit south along Langford Avenue, east along Danforth Avenue, south along Jones Avenue, east along Queen Street East, south along Rushbrook Avenue, east along Eastern Avenue, and south along Leslie Street to Lake Ontario.

In 1966, it was redefined to be bounded on the east by the east limit of the City of Toronto and Victoria Park Avenue, on the north by a line drawn west along Danforth Avenue, north along Woodbine Avenue, west along Milverton Boulevard, on the west by Greenwood Avenue, and including the area south of Queen Street East between Greenwood and Leslie Street.

The electoral district was abolished in 1976 when it was redistributed between Beaches and York East ridings.

Greenwood (provincial electoral district)

Greenwood was the name of a provincial electoral district in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It was located in the Boundary Country west of Grand Forks around the city of Greenwood. It first appeared on the hustings in the large redistribution prior to the 1903 election. For the 1924 election it was merged with the Grand Forks riding to form Grand Forks-Greenwood.

Greenwood was an Ontario provincial electoral district that existed from 1926 to 1934. It covered a section of the eastern city of Toronto east of Jones Avenue and west of Greenwood Avenue. The riding lasted less than ten years when the riding was dissolved and split between the neighbouring ridings of Riverdale to the west and Woodbine to the east.

Greenwood is a historic plantation house located at Culpeper, Culpeper County, Virginia. It consists of a 1 1/2-story, three bay, center block dating to the late-18th or early-19th century, with one-story wings dated to 1823-1824. The original section has a hall-parlor plan dwelling. In 1825, Greenwood received as visitors the Marquis de Lafayette and former President James Monroe during Lafayette's celebrated tour as "guest of the nation." During the American Civil War Federal troops occupied the house and plantation and placed a cannon on the lawn.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Greenwood (Orange, Virginia)

Greenwood is a historic home located near Orange, Orange County, Virginia. It was built about 1820, and is a two-story, three bay, timber frame Federal style I-house with a side gable roof. It has a center-passage plan, a raised basement, and two exterior-end chimneys. The Greek Revival style front entry porch has brick piers supporting a one-story wooden porch with a gable roof and triangular pediment supported by square paired columns. A one-bay, single-pile timber-frame wing addition, built about 1850. Also on the property are a contributing outbuilding, well, and the grave of Mary Roberta Macon who died at age nine in 1843.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
