Glyceraldehyde
Glyceraldehyde (glyceral) is a triose monosaccharide with chemical formula C H O. It is the simplest of all common aldoses. The word comes from combining glycerol and aldehyde, as glyceraldehyde is glycerol with one hydroxymethyl group oxidized to an aldehyde.
