Sambur \Sam"bur\, n. [Hind. s[=a]mbar, s[=a]bar.] (Zo["o]l.) An East Indian deer ( Rusa Aristotelis) having a mane on its neck. Its antlers have but three prongs. Called also gerow. The name is applied to other species of the genus Rusa, as the Bornean sambur ( R. equina).
