Dionysos (Canadian band)

Dionysos was a French Canadian progressive rock band formed in 1969 in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada. The band members were Phil Bech, Éric Clement, Fern Durand, Bob Lepage and Paul-André Thibert. They had a hit with their 1970 single "Suzie". Their first album was named Le Grand Jeu and released in 1971 through Jupiter Records. The band released a single "J'ai Jamais" in France on the Disques Vogue record label. They later released Le Prince Croule (1972) and Changé d'adresse (1976). The last album Pionniers 1969-1994 (1994) for their 25th anniversary. The band broke up in 1974.

Dionysos (album)

Dionysos is the second album by the Polish symphonic black metal band Lux Occulta ( Latin for "Hidden Light"). The 2002 re-release of the album by Metal Mind includes the band's demo The Forgotten Arts, which can also be found on the band's Maior Arcana compilation, in its entirety as bonus material. Unlike the version on Maior Arcana, the version appended to this album retains the same running order as on the original release.

Dionysos (French band)

Dionysos is a French rock band formed in 1993 in Valence, Drôme ( Occitania); they formed at their lycée. They perform songs in both French and English, and have released six studio albums. They are well known in France for their surrealism and eccentricity.

Their first album, Happening Songs, was self-produced and with entirely English lyrics. With their second album The sun is blue like eggs in Winter (also self-produced) Babet became a member. In 1999, they signed to a major label (the now defunct Trema) and released Haïku which brought the band in to the public eye, mainly thanks to the success of the single "Coccinelle".

The name of the band comes from the ancient Greek god Dionysus, which in French is Dionysos.

Dionysos, commonly pronounced {dy-uh-ny'-suhs}, was established in Southern California, United States around the beginning of 2002. They are a professional three-piece band, touring and traveling constantly in support of their music and message. The band's name comes from ancient Greek mythology. Dionysos was the god of wine, theater, agriculture, madness, and ecstasy. The band came up with the name after researching the works of the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. Since its inception, the band's line-up has included founders: vocals/ guitars Graham Boostrom, and vocals/ bass Ray Delgado. The current drummer is Zak Mcadamis, who has been with the band since late 2007. Their first studio album was Be The Change, which was released in 2008. The group is currently unsigned and building a large underground following across the United States.

Dionysos (film)

Dionysos is a 1984 French comedy film directed by Jean Rouch, starring Jean Monod and Hélène Puiseux. It tells the story of an American drama teacher who after writing a thesis on Dionysus tries to combine Dionysian rites with the work at a car factory, in an attempt to create the world's first car built in joyous frenzy. The film competed at the 41st Venice International Film Festival. It was released in France on 3 December 1986.
