Dahoon \Da*hoon"\ (d[.a]*h[=oo]n"), [Origin unknown.] An evergreen shrub or small tree ( Ilex cassine) of the southern United States, bearing red drupes and having soft, white, close-grained wood; -- called also dahoon holly.
