Wikipedia
Cameleon (protein)

Cameleon is an engineered protein based on variant of green fluorescent protein used to visualize calcium levels in living cells. It is a genetically encoded calcium sensor created by Roger Y. Tsien and coworkers. The name is a conflation of CaM (the common abbreviation of calmodulin) and chameleon to indicate the fact that the sensor protein undergoes a conformation change and radiates at an altered wavelength upon calcium binding to the calmodulin element of the Cameleon. Cameleon was the first genetically encoded calcium sensor that could be used for ratiometric measurements and the first to be used in a transgenic animal to record activity in neurons and muscle cells. Cameleon and other genetically-encoded calcium indicators (GECIs) have found many applications in neuroscience and other fields of biology. It was created by fusing BFP, calmodulin, calmodulin-binding peptide M13 and EGFP.

Cameleon (software)

Cameleon is an integrated development environment (IDE), created by Maxence Guesdon, Pierre-Yves Strub and Jean-Baptiste Rouquier. Cameleon is aimed at becoming an IDE for OCaml as well as other programming languages.

Caméléon (album)

Caméléon is the fourth album by French singer Shy'm, released on 25 June 2012 on Warner Music France. Most of the material was written by Louis Côté and Cyril Kamar (also known as K.Maro), with some contributions from Tiery-F (" On se fout de nous" and "En plein cœur") and by soFLY & Nius ("Sur la route"). The album expanded on the Pop sound of previous album, Prendre l'air, largely abandoning the R&B sound that Shy'm had previously developed. Songs like " Et alors !" were Shy'm's first experiments with the dance genre.

Cameleon (programming language)

Cameleon is a free and open source graphical language for functional programming, released under an MIT License.

Cameleon language is a graphical data flow language following a two-scale paradigm. It allows an easy up-scale, that is, the integration of any library writing in C++ into the data flow language. Cameleon language aims to democratize macro-programming by an intuitive interaction between the human and the computer where building an application based on a data-process and a GUI is a simple task to learn and to do. Cameleon language allows conditional execution and repetition to solve complex macro-problems.

Cameleon is built on an extension of the petri net model for the description of how the Cameleon language executes a composition.

Cameleon (film)

Cameleon is a 1997 British drama film directed by Ceri Sherlock. The film was selected as the British entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 71st Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

Usage examples of "cameleon".

I had a Cameleon for a neighbour, who, in the garb of an Irishman, flung his three half-shovels out of a hole on the hill punctually every morning, and that was his work before breakfast.
