Babek (film)

Babek is a 1979 film produced by Azerbaijanfilm, an Azerbaijani movie company, in the Soviet Union. Its director was Eldar Guliyev and its writer was Anvar Mamedkhanly. The film is about the story of Babak Khorramdin.

Babek (city)

Babək (also, Babek, Babekskiy, and Tazakend) is a city and municipality in and the capital of Babek Rayon, in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It is located in the left side of the Ordubad-Nakhchivan highway, 6 km in the south-east from the Nakhchivan city, on the left bank of the Nakhchivanchay River, on the plain. The Stone and grape processing plant, the Construction materials plant, the Food factory are available. Alley of Martyrs was built. There are secondary schools, Children and Youth Sport School, Technical creativity center, 3 libraries, cultural center, club, history museum, Central regional hospital, post office, telecom office, mosque in the city.

Babek (ballet)

Babek – is a heroic Spartacus like ballet in two acts, based on the story of the people’s liberation struggle against Abbasid Caliphate under the leadership of Babak Khorramdin. Akshin Alizadeh composed the music and the prominent Azeri choreographers of the Soviet era Rafiga Akhundova and Maksud Mamedov choreographed the ballet for Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater (National Ballet of Azerbaijan) in 1986.
