Cleavage of insulin B chain with specificity similar to that of thermolysin, preferring hydrophobic P1' residue. Activates the glutamyl endopeptidase ( EC 3.4.21.19) of Staphylococcus aureus

This metalloenzyme is present in S. aureus.
