Above and Beyond is a 1952 American war film about Lt. Col. Paul W. Tibbets, Jr., the pilot of the aircraft that dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima in August 1945.

It stars Robert Taylor as Tibbets and features a love story with Eleanor Parker as his wife. James Whitmore plays security officer Major Bill Uanna. The story of the dropping of the atomic bomb is treated as a docudrama with an effort to recreate the training and operational aspects of the military units involved in the Hiroshima mission.

Above and Beyond (miniseries)

Above and Beyond is a four-hour 2006 miniseries aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on October 29 and 30, 2006. It stars Richard E. Grant, Jonathan Scarfe, Liane Balaban, Allan Hawco, Kenneth Welsh and Jason Priestley. The miniseries deals with the Atlantic Ferry Organization, tasked with ferrying aircraft from North America to Europe in the early years of the Second World War.

"Above and Beyond", also known as "Above and Beyond (The Call of Love)" is a song written by Harlan Howard and recorded by American country music singer Buck Owens. Released in 1960 as a single with "'Til These Dreams Come True" on the B-side, Owens' rendition reached No. 3 on the Billboard country singles charts that year. It was his third single.

In 1967, "Above and Beyond" was recorded by singer Wynn Stewart and was the title track of his 3rd album, which was on the Hilltop label.

In 1989, Rodney Crowell recorded a cover version on his album Diamonds & Dirt. This cover, released with "She Loves the Jerk" on the B-side, charted at No. 1 on the country chart in late 1989. It was the fifth consecutive No. 1 hit from the album, as well as the fifth and final No. 1 of his career.

Above and Beyond (2014 film)

Above and Beyond is a 2014 documentary film about Mahal (Israel), produced by Nancy Spielberg, the youngest sister of Steven Spielberg, (known for Nazi Hunt: Elusive Justice (2011)), written by Sophie Sartain (known for Blessed Is the Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh (2011)) and directed by Roberta Grossman (who also worked on Blessed Is the Match: The Life and Death of Hannah Senesh).

Above and Beyond documents the story of the American, foreign and Israeli pilots who flew warplanes to help defend the new state of Israel during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War against Arab Armies that sought to destroy the new country. The film was notable with the cinematography of Harris Done ( The Last Days (1998)), special effects by Industrial Light and Magic and an original score from Hans Zimmer's Studio.
