Zemplín is the name of an informal region located in eastern Slovakia. It includes Slovak part of the former Zemplén county, often including the Slovak part of the Ung county (Slovak: Užská župa/Užský komitát). __NOTOC__

Zemplín (village)

Zemplín is a village in Trebišov District in the Košice Region, near the junction point of rivers Ondava and Latorica (tributaries of the river Bodrog) in eastern Slovakia. The village has a population of 399. According to the 2001 census, 64.2% of inhabitants were Hungarians and 35.8% were Slovaks. Zemplín is also the location of Zemplín Castle, former administrative center of the former Zemplín region during the time the Kingdom of Hungary ruled the area.
