What is "zebibit"

The zebibit is a multiple of the bit, a unit of digital information storage, prefixed by the standards-based multiplier zebi (symbol Zi), a binary prefix meaning 2. The unit symbol of the zebibit is Zibit.

The prefix zebi was originally not a part of the system of binary prefixes, but was added together with the prefix yobi by the International Electrotechnical Commission in August 2005.
