What is "zalafa"

Zalafa may refer to:

• Khirbat Zalafa, a Palestinian village in the Tulkarm Subdistrict that was depopulated in April 1948
• Zalafa, Ma'ale Iron, a Palestinian village that was incorporated into Israel in 1948 and now is a part of the local council Ma'ale Iron

Zalafa is an Arab village in Israel's Haifa District. The village is in the Wadi Ara area of the northern Triangle, northeast of Umm al-Fahm. Since 1996, it has been under the jurisdiction of the Ma'ale Iron local council whose headquarters is based in the village. The village is divided into three neighborhoods: East, West and al-Murtafi'a. In the 2008 census, Zalafa's population was 4,000, all of whom are Muslim.
