Yakutpura

Yakutpura is a traditional part of the old city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India, one of the major parts.

The word Ya·kut (yä-koot) from YakutPura is derived from the Persian word "Yakut" which means the precious Blue Sapphire Stone, It was named by the Nizam of Hyderabad.

As Hyderabad is famous by its nickname "City of Pearls", YakutPura was one of the precious parts of the Nizam's Hyderabad and hence it specified why it was named Yakut-Pura. Over the period this area has evolved with mostly educated, hard-working talented, multicultural and peace-loving people.

Yakutpura Assembly constituency is a constituency of Telangana Legislative Assembly, India. It is one of 15 constituencies in Capital city of Hyderabad. It is part of Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency.

Mumtaz Ahmed Khan of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is representing the constituency from 1994.
