XYZ (US band)

XYZ was originally created in Lyon (France) where Patt Fontaine and Terry Ilous were born and grew up. Then they moved to Los Angeles, and began a musical career in 1986. XYZ started off as the unofficial house band of " The Whisky A Go Go" nightclub in Los Angeles. The original members were Terry Ilous (vocals), Bobby Pieper ( guitars), Patt Fontaine (bass) and Joey Pafumi (drums). A tour of the US with Enuff Z'Nuff and Alice Cooper followed the success of their 1989 Enigma released debut album, and they were signed by major label Capitol for their second.

XYZ is the 1989 self-titled debut album released by the mid-1980s American glam metal band XYZ. There were two hits off the album; "Inside Out" and "What Keeps Me Loving You". The album was a moderate success, charting at No. 99 on the Billboard 200. There were two music videos made for the songs "Inside Out" and "What Keeps Me Loving You" which both aired on MTV between 1989 and 1990.

XYZ (Andy Summers album)

XYZ is a 1987 album by Andy Summers. It is the first Andy Summers solo album and the only one to feature his vocals, though an uncredited vocal by Summers appears on World Gone Strange. The title "XYZ" comes from the middle names of Summers's three children. His daughter Layla (born 1978) has the middle name 'Z', and his twin sons, Maurice and Anton, (born 1987) have the middle names 'X' and 'Y' respectively. The album was recorded in Venice Beach in 1986 at Devo's studio. Summers' portrait on the cover is by Anton Corbijn.
