WYME-CD is the Class A MeTV-affiliated television station for North Central Florida licensed to Gainesville. It broadcasts a low-powered digital signal on UHF channel 45 from a transmitter between I-75/SR 93 and US 441/ SR 25 in rural Alachua County. Owned by New Age Media and operated by Sinclair Broadcast Group, the station is sister to CBS affiliate WGFL, low-powered MyNetworkTV affiliate WMYG-LP, and NBC affiliate WNBW-DT. The latter is actually owned by MPS Media, LLC but operated by New Age Media through a local marketing agreement (LMA).
All four share studios on Northwest 80th Boulevard in Gainesville along I-75/SR 93. A digital signal of WYME-CD is also provided in standard definition on WNBW's second digital subchannel. This airs on VHF channel 9.2 from a transmitter in Newberry. The station has not yet been added to area cable systems.
On September 25, 2013, New Age Media announced that it would sell most of its stations, including the then WYME-CA, WGFL, and WMYG-LP, to the Sinclair Broadcast Group. Concurrently, MPS Media planned to sell WNBW-DT to Cunningham Broadcasting, though Sinclair would still operate that station. On October 31, 2014, New Age Media requested the dismissal of its application to sell WYME-CA; the next day, Sinclair purchased the non-license assets of the stations it planned to buy from New Age Media and began operating them through a master service agreement.
