What is "wuchale"

Wuchale (also spelled Uccialli) is a town in northern Ethiopia. Located about 40 km north of Dessie in the Debub Wollo Zone of the Amhara Region, this town has a latitude and longitude of and an elevation of 1711 m. It is the largest settlement in Ambassel woreda and is located along Ethiopian Highway 1.

Wuchale is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It was part of former woreda of Wuchalena Jido which was separated for Jido and Wuchale woredas.. Part of the Semien Shewa Zone, Wuchale is bordered on the south by Berehna Aleltu, on the west by Mulona Sululta, on the northwest by Yaya Gulelena Debre Liban, on the northeast by the Amhara Region, on the east by Abichuna Gne'a, and on the southeast by Kembibit. Towns in Wuchale include Muka and Turi.
