WMUZ

WMUZ is an FM radio station in the United States serving the Detroit, MI market at 103.5 MHz. The station has a contemporary Christian music and Christian talk format, known on the air as The Light. WMUZ's 50,000 watt signal extends north into metro Detroit, and Flint/Lapeer areas.

WMUZ first went on the air on November 11, 1958, and has always been branded with these call letters. The station is currently owned and operated by Crawford Broadcasting. The station's studios, offices and transmitter are located near Burt Road and Capitol Avenue in the Weatherby section of Detroit.

The station's General Manager is Frank Franciosi, who has been with the station since the mid-1970s.

WMUZ local hosts/shows include The Morning Light with Chris Stevenson, The Bob Dutko Show and The Praise Company with Robin Sullivan. Other fill-in air personalities include Elaine McCrae and Michael Jason, who both have been employed with WMUZ since the 1980s, Frank Turner, former anchor on WXYZ-TV, hosts a talk show weeknights from 8-9pm, Val Monroe, who has been with WMUZ, since the late 1990s and Randi Myles, a veteran radio personality. Mid-morning, late evening, overnight, and Sundays are occupied with locally and nationally based paid programming. The station also carries the syndicated "Dave Ramsey Show". WMUZ is also the home of "Somewhere In Time," a Sunday-evening big-band/nostalgia program which aired for years on 90.9 WDTR.

103.5 WMUZ The Light currently ranks at #22 (1.7) in the Detroit market according to the November 2010 PPM Rating release.
