WMDN is the CBS-affiliated television station for Meridian, Mississippi. It broadcasts a high definition digital signal on UHF channel 24 from a transmitter at its studios on Crestview Circle south of downtown. The station can also be seen on Comcast channel 5 and in high definition on digital channel 433. Owned by Meridian Media, WMDN is sister to NBC/ Fox affiliate WGBC and the two share studios. Syndicated programming on WMDN includes: The Doctors, Dr. Phil Show, Hot in Cleveland, and Big Bang Theory. The brand of "Sports & Entertainment Leader" was built around the fact that WMDN and WGBC offer almost every major sports program on television today through their affiliation with CBS, NBC and FOX. The Super Bowl airs on one of the two stations every year, the AFC and the NFC Football package is on FOX and CBS, SEC Football, The Masters Golf Tournament, NCAA Basketball are all on CBS and Major League Baseball, NASCAR, FIFA Soccer, and now US Open Golf is all offered on FOX. Rounding out the sports offerings with NBC offering the Olympics, NBC Sunday Night Football, and many other events. Locally the stations produce local High School Football every Friday night during football season. These games are pre-recorded and then offered to viewers on Sunday evenings.
