White Lake is the name of several lakes in the U.S. state of Michigan. The largest one is formed by the White River flowing to its mouth on Lake Michigan in Muskegon County.

White Lake (Ontario)

White Lake is a medium-sized lake of Ontario, Canada. It is located 60 km West of Ottawa, Ontario near Calabogie to the west and Arnprior to the North. It may be accessed via Highway 417 from Ottawa or Renfrew Country Road 511 from Perth. The town of White Lake lies on the northern shore of the lake.

The northern and western shores of White Lake mark the upper limit of the Champlain Sea which flooded the Ottawa Valley at the end of the last ice age.

White Lake (White Lake Township, Michigan)

White Lake is an all-sports, 540-acre lake in White Lake Township, Michigan.

It is the sixth largest lake in Oakland County, Michigan.

Potawatomi, Chippewa and Ottawa Native Americans lived, traveled and camped in this area including on the shores of White Lake which they called “white” or “clear” and that is where the name of the lake and township originated.
