Whatever It Takes is the sixth episode of the fourth season of House and the seventy-sixth episode overall, which aired on November 6, 2007.

A champion drag racer collapses after a race and Foreman is sure it is only heat stroke. However, when a CIA agent comes to take House to a special case, Foreman is left alone with the rest of the applicants. The drag racer takes a turn for the worse, and Foreman finds his authority with the applicants crumbling and the confidence of the patient disappearing. With House out of contact, Brennan comes up with a crazy idea and fights with Foreman on both the diagnosis and treatment. Meanwhile, House treats a spy with life-threatening symptoms while trying to impress his attractive attending physician and undercut one of the world’s leading doctors at the same time.

"Whatever It Takes" is a song by American alternative band Lifehouse. It is the second single released from their fourth studio album, Who We Are (2007). The song was written by Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade and American record producer Jude Cole. When discussing the song, Wade felt that the message of the song dealt with how difficult it could be to be in a relationship. It was first released with the band's fourth studio album Who We Are on June 18, 2007 and was then solicited to mainstream radio on November 13, 2007. It is a moderately slow pop- rock ballad that has influences of adult alternative.

"Whatever It Takes" received positive reviews from critics who commended the song's chorus. It was a commercial success in the United States and charted in the top 40 on several charts in the country. The song's music video premiered on Yahoo! Music on November 15, 2007 and solely features Lifehouse lead singer Jason Wade and has the use of pyrotechnics throughout the video.

Whatever it Takes is a 2009 British television drama film directed by Andy Hay and starring Shane Ritchie, Amy Beth Hayes, Eva Alexander, Gary Lucy and Ron Cook. Ritchie plays a publicist observing and interacting on the story of Daisy Cockram, a police officer catapulted to fame after she is arrested for public indecency with a footballer in the back of a car and who becomes a national celebrity, which is soon shown to have many pitfalls. The moral of the story being "be careful what you wish for". It was first aired on ITV & UTV on Sunday 26 July 2009.
