The station is owned by Univision Communications, as part of a duopoly with WXTV-DT (channel 41). It operates as a satellite station of Newark, New Jersey-based WFUT-DT (channel 68). WFTY's master control operations are based at WXTV/WFUT's studio facilities on 3rd Avenue in the Murray Hill district of Manhattan, and its transmitter is based at its facility in Middle Island.
