Weigeltisaurus

Weigeltisaurus was a genus of avicephalan reptile that lived in Madagascar about 280 million years ago, during the Permian Period. It was discovered at the beginning of the 20th century.

The Weigeltisaurus had a layer of skin stretched between its ribs which allowed it to glide. This lizard-like reptile possibly had a very small frill at the back of its head covering most of its neck area.

In the book Ecology and Behaviour of Mesozoic Reptiles it was suggested that the name Weigeltisaurus was a "junior synonym of Coelurosauravus".
